Morley, Edward Williams

Pronunciation: /ˈmôrlē/
(1838–1923), US chemist. In 1887, he collaborated with Albert Michelson in an experiment to determine the speed of light, the result of which disproved the existence of the ether. See also Michelson–Morley experiment.
