Rolland, Romain

Pronunciation: /rôˈläN/
(1866–1944), French novelist, playwright, and essayist. His interest in genius led to a number of biographies, and ultimately to Jean-Christophe (1904–12), a cycle of 10 novels about a German composer. Nobel Prize for Literature (1915).
