Sama Veda

Pronunciation: /ˈsämə ˈvādə/ /ˈvēdə/
One of the four Vedas, a collection of liturgical chants chanted aloud at the sacrifice. Its material is drawn largely from the Rig Veda. See Veda.


From Sanskrit sāmaveda, from sāman 'chant' and veda '(sacred) knowledge'.
