Sendak, Maurice

Pronunciation: /ˈsenˌdak/
(1928–2012), US writer and illustrator of children’s books; full name Maurice Bernard Sendak. He is best known for his award-winning Where the Wild Things Are (1963). He also wrote and illustrated In the Night Kitchen (1970) and Outside Over There (1981).
