Seneca, Marcus Annaeus

(Circa 55 bc-circa ad39), Roman rhetorician, born in Spain; known as Seneca the Elder; full name Marcus or Lucius Annaeus Seneca. Father of Seneca the Younger, he is best known for his works on rhetoric, only parts of which survive.
