Soddy, Frederick

Pronunciation: /ˈsädē/
(1877–1956), English physicist. He assisted William Ramsay in the discovery of helium, formulated a theory of isotopes, and coined the word isotope in 1913 after working on radioactive decay. Nobel Prize for Chemistry (1921).
