Tarbell, Ida Minerva

Pronunciation: /ˈtärbəl/
(1857–1944), US writer. A leader of the muckraking movement, she was a writer for McClure’s magazine 1896–1904 and for American magazine 1906–15. Her books include the exposé The History of the Standard Oil Company (1904) and The Business of Being a Woman (1912).
