A trick by which the declarer falls short of their contract.
- If just one player was up, that player gives each of the other players as many unwanted cards face down as they had undertricks.
- If you take fewer tricks than you bid you lose one point for each undertrick.
- If the bidder and partner fail they each pay 1 unit plus 1 per undertrick.
