Zsigmondy, Richard

Pronunciation: /ˈZHiɡˌmôndē/
(1865–1929), German chemist, born in Austria; full name Richard Adolf Zsigmondy. He investigated the properties of various colloidal solutions and invented the ultramicroscope for counting colloidal particles. Nobel Prize for Chemistry (1925).
