Baron Coe of Ranmore ( b.1956), British middle-distance runner and Conservative politician, an Olympic gold medal winner in the 1,500 metres in 1980 and 1984. After his retirement from athletics he served as an MP 1992-7 and chaired the committee that organized the 2012 London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
