noun

1A form of money held or traded outside the country in whose currency its value is stated (originally US dollars held in Europe): the Swiss franc has an important role as a Eurocurrency [mass noun]: a sterling deposit held in Paris would count as Eurocurrency
2A single currency for use by the member states of the European Union: the prime minister said the time was not yet right for Britain to join the new Eurocurrency
