Definition of Shankar, Uday in English:

( 1900–77), Indian dancer, brother of Ravi Shankar. He introduced Anna Pavlova to Indian dance and performed with her in his ballet Krishna and Radha (1923). He later toured the world with his own company, introducing Indian dance to European audiences.
