Acheson, Dean

Pronunciation: /ˈeɪtʃɪs(ə)n/
(1893–1971), American statesman, Secretary of State 1949–53; full name Dean Gooderham Acheson. He was instrumental in the formation of NATO, and implemented the Marshall Plan and the Truman Doctrine.
