Anderson, Elizabeth Garrett

Pronunciation: /ˈandəs(ə)n/
(1836–1917), English physician. She established a dispensary for women and children in London (renamed the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital) and was the first woman elected to the BMA (1873).
