Bennett, Arnold

Pronunciation: /ˈbɛnɪt/
(1867–1931), English novelist, playwright, and critic; full name Enoch Arnold Bennett. His fame rests on the novels and stories set in the Potteries (‘the Five Towns’) of his youth, notably Anna of the Five Towns (1902), The Old Wives' Tale (1908), and the Clayhanger series (1902-8).
