Bridgman, Percy Williams

Pronunciation: /ˈbrɪdʒmən/
(1882–1961), American physicist. He worked with liquids and solids under very high pressures and his techniques were later used in making artificial minerals (including diamonds). Nobel Prize for Physics (1946).
