Budge, Don

Pronunciation: /bʌdʒ/
(1915–2000), American tennis player; born John Donald Budge. He was the first to win the four major singles championships—Australia, France, Britain, and the US—in one year (1938). In both 1937 and 1938 he won the Wimbledon singles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
