( 1898–2001), Irish choreographer, ballet dancer, and teacher; born Edris Stannus. A former soloist with Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, she formed the Vic-Wells Ballet (which eventually became the Royal Ballet) and the Sadler’s Wells ballet school.
