Morley, Edward Williams

Pronunciation: /ˈmɔːli/
(1838–1923), American chemist. In 1887 he collaborated with Albert Michelson in an experiment to determine the speed of light, the result of which disproved the existence of the ether. See also Michelson–Morley experiment.
