- Bowers, in a study of pedunculate barnacles on lobster maxillipeds, found that the molts often lacked the barnacles and concluded that fish and other predators had removed the epibionts from the molts.
- The braincase box, as I understand the term (which is not used elsewhere in the text), does not open up posteriorly, and there is nothing between the basal tubera which are, in fact, at least slightly pedunculate.
