A fracture of the lower end of the fibula, usually involving a dislocation of the ankle.
- Radiographs showed a burst fracture of the second lumbar vertebra, a left Pott's fracture, and an isolated dorsal dislocation of the right midtarsal.
- In 1962 she had a Pott's fracture of her left ankle, which was fixed with a Vitallium.
- There is quite a common tendency today to classify any fracture about the ankle joint as a Pott's fracture.
Mid 19th century: named after Sir Percivall Pott (1713–88), English surgeon.
