Röntgen, Wilhelm Conrad

/ˈrɒntɡ(ə)n/ /ˈrœntɡn/
(1845–1923), German physicist, the discoverer of X-rays. He was a skilful experimenter and worked in a variety of areas as well as radiation. He was awarded the first Nobel Prize for Physics in 1901.
