(In England and Wales) a writ by which an action is started in the High Court.
- In the event that the defendant has his residence or seat abroad, a copy of the action must be served on him containing a writ of summons for the defendant to appear before the Court, where the case is pending.
- On 27 July 2005 they filed a writ of summons in the original jurisdiction of the Court under sections 75 and 76 of the Constitution against three defendants.
