Insurance claims

Before drafting your letter, make sure that you have all the necessary details on hand. The letter should include the following information, set out clearly and concisely:

  • your policy details and reference numbers: set these out prominently at the start of your letter
  • what has been damaged or stolen
  • how and when the event took place
  • details of your contact with the police (e.g., a crime reference number) if this is appropriate.
