Help with logging in using Facebook or Google
You can now log into your Oxford Dictionaries account using Facebook or Google.
Linking your Facebook or Google account for the first time
To log in for the first time, visit the login page or click ‘LOG IN’ in the top right corner of any page, and select your preferred social login option on the right hand side of the page.
If it is the first time you do this, you will need to sign into your Facebook or Google account if you are not already signed in. Once you are signed in, you will be asked to give Oxford Dictionaries access to some of your Facebook or Google information. You will need to complete this step to link the accounts together, which will allow you to access your Oxford Dictionaries content with your social login in the future. However, even when you are signed in to Oxford Dictionaries with Facebook or Google, Oxford Dictionaries will not post your activities to your newsfeed or circles, unless you publicly ‘Like’ or ‘+1’ a page.
Once you have logged in you will be able to set a password on your Oxford Dictionaries account if you wish, and use that in addition to social login on the same account. Changing or setting a password for Oxford Dictionaries will not change your social media password.
Unlinking your Facebook or Google account
If you wish to stop using a social media account to log in, make sure you have created a password on your Oxford Dictionaries account page. You will then be able to log in using your email address and new password instead.
If you have previously successfully logged in with Facebook or Google, and are now unable to, please check that another user isn’t already logged in to those sites using your browser. If another user is logged in, log out of their account and log in yourself before trying again to log in here.
Oxford Dictionaries Pro users
If you have an existing Oxford Dictionaries Pro subscription, you can log in with a social media account (Facebook or Google) if the same email address is used across both.
