Take Off In FAQ

How do I register my details to get my Take Off In mp3 files?

You can access the MP3s by registering your details for the appropriate product here:

http://www.oup.com/takeoffin

If you are having difficulty registering your details it may be because you are including hyphens or accented characters. These will need to be removed to register your details.

You will also need to enter the case sensitive access code included with your Take Off In pack

Please remember to tick the checkbox for the End User Electronic Product License acceptance box to make the ‘Register’ button become live.

How do I download my Take Off In mp3 files?

Once you have registered your details, you will be forwarded to the audio content download site.

Here there will be a link, one for the complete audio course as described in your books, and for French, Spanish, and Italian a second link for additional practice content. If you click on these links, you will start to download a zipped file.

These files are rather large, so please be aware that your broadband connection will determine the speed for this step of the process. Please save the files to somewhere easily found and memorable to yourself.

Once you have downloaded the zipped files, you will need to extract the mp3 files. If you right-click on the files, you should see a small menu which will include an option for extracting the files.

If you do not, your computer may not have an Unzip program. Free unzipping software can be found online. Once this is installed in your computer, you will be able to double-click on the files to open them.

When you have access to the content of the files, choose the ‘Extract’ option, and save the extracted files into a new folder within your media library files. Your media player should then be able to detect the files, and will be able to sync and play them.

Please do not rip the CDs directly, as they have not been pre-tagged by OUP, so will not play in the correct order, and the correct files will be difficult to find.

I can’t download the mp3 files to my mobile device (e.g iPhone/iPad).

The audio files come in a zipped or compressed format. Unfortunately most mobile devices do not come with unzipping programs installed. You will need to download the files to your computer and then transfer the files across to your mobile device.
